Recording Tip:
One good way to free up track (especially if you're working on a four-track like me) if you have one guitar solo to do when the vocals cut out, is to do the solo on the vocals track. A song like Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower is an example of one where the vocals and lead guitar are never present together. This may require overdubbing the lead or a semi-complicated setup for live recording, but it may be worth it...
