Stevie Ray Vaughan (Guitarist)

Equipment Description and Setup:
Guitars-Mostly Old Stock Fender Stratocasters,he liked 60's ones the best.Rosewood fretboards,

Pickups-Stock pickups that were overwound at Fender. The new Texas Specials were made close to his originals

Amps-Stevie used so many amps that it would take days to write them all down,Mainly he used his Fender Super Reverbs,Fender Vibrolux Reverbs,Dumble Steel Singers,Marshall Major PA heads,Toward the end he used Marshall JCM 900 Dual Reverb heads and Fender Bassmans also

Effects-Ibanez TS-808,TS-10,and TS-9 Tube Screamers (at various times,2 Vox Wahs (sometimes he even hooked them together with tape to get a unique sound.Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Faces (which were replaced with his amp techs own Diaz Square Face Fuzz,Rumors say he used a Boss CH-1 Chorus towards the end.Special splitter box that let him hook up multible amps up at once during a live show, that is why he had to use a plexi-glass shield in front of his amps because they were too loud for the normal ear

Misc-GHS 13-60 strings (sometimes he would use larger gauge than that!!)

Tips-use the heavy strings if you can stand them,Don't overdrive your amp much fill in the gain on a TS if one is avalible.Be carefull using those strings they may give you cramps if not used to them ,start off slow.
