Hammond / M-3 Spinet Organ

jazz /gospel/r&b/rock organ

Devices Used:
Hammond M-3 spinet organ
Snarling Dogs Blue Doo Pedal
Leslie Combo II preamp/ with 9 pin cable
Leslie 760

Sound Description:
Real good hammond organ sound, remarkably similar to B-3/ leslie 122 sounds you'd hear on Santana, Jimmy Smith, and others records.

Settings:
Keep the drawbar registration on the organ on 888000000 for on the top manual and 88000000 on lower manual for jazz sounds, percussion on soft, and on the third harmonic. Use chorus for both for a real complex, subtle sound, Bass Pedals are not very good on this organ, so don't worry too much about it...

For gospel, pull out some of the higher drawbars and stuff, and that's also applicable for rock, r&b, and stuff.

Keep the snarling dog on bite, and the distortion low, and the gain high. It gets noisy, so a nosie suppressor might be good too. Make sure that the leslie combo pedal's output is at 9'0 clock position, YOU MUST not drive that leslie too hard, or the horn's speaker will BLOW, that's not a good sound.
