Fender / Blender

Distortion

Devices Used:
Gibson Les Paul, K Custom Amp

Sound Description:
This pedal can create a range warm distortions from a minor fuzz to an extreme pulsing screach. This pedal can be heard in a few songs on the Smashing Pumpkin Album - Siamese Dream

Settings:
Volume - This is a sensitive knob and needs to be set above 2 for the pedal to produce it's true sound

Tone - The pedal has a very bassy distort so keep this between 6 and 10 to avoid overload on the low end.

Sustain - This will hold extend your distorted note for a long. Keeping it between 4 and 8 gives the distort a gutsy sound with out beeing too muddy.

Blend - Set low this knob will produce a soft fuzz. Set high, it will litterly screem with the touch of a string. The tricky part is getting the volume and blend to compliment each other so that th Tone Enhancer Button - By pressing this it gives the distort a little high end boost. A good use is in a solo to add a twist to the sound.

This pedal works great by itself. If put in front of a tube screamer, it can enhance the screamers sound to different levels. The Fender Blender can get a muddy with too much chorus or delays.
