Grungy, low toned
Devices Used:
Squire Sratocaster (bullet series), Dunlop Cry Baby, DOD stereo flanger, DOD FX55-b supra distortion, ibenez chorus-distortion pedal. For an amp, its a small Crate GX-65.
Sound Description:
What I do is turn the Mids on my amp all the way up and the highs all the way down, I leave my low set at 2 on a scale from 1-10. On my distortion I set the tone to about 55% and the distortion to just before it boosts. I set my level about 70%. For solos I turn on my Ibanez pedal. This gives you (in my opinion) a nice Curt Cobain type sound sometimes.
Settings:
I already told you how to set my distortion and my amp. up. Now I'll get to the Flanger and the Chorus Distortion. For the Flanger main sound I set the two outside knobs to about 100% and the two inside knobs to about 60%. This gives me a slow Tremelo type of sound. A lot of different flangers vary so you may want to play around with it to get the Tremelo sound. For the Ibanez Chorus Distortion I set the switch to series circuitry and crank up the chorus to about 10. If you want to know my effects line goes like this: AMPLIFIER, JIM DUNLOP WAH-WAH, DOD FLANGER, DOD SUPRA DISTORTION, IBENEZ CHORUS DISTORTION.
