Heavy Lead
Devices Used:
I used an Ibanez GAX70 guitar and a Peavey Rage 158 practice amp.
Sound Description:
This is kindof a neat trick and it really is a good setting. Turn your amps volume on clean to about 1 or 2, keep it quiet. Have the low amp frequencies at about 7, and mid and high cranked all the way up. Have your Danelectro Fab Tone distortion set as follows:
Settings:
Volume-All the way up
Bass-12 o' clock
Treble-all the way up
Fab-9 or 10 o' clock
This setting gives you the perfect equalization. Not too much distortion, perfect punch on muted notes. A really crisp and clean sound. Low palm mutes are like punches in the face, and you get PERFECT harmonics and perfect high lead.
You can use this with a phaser or flanger, it sounds really good.
Charlie McIntosh
Distortion
Devices Used:
Gibson Guitars, Fender Guitars, and various sorts of tube amps.
Sound Description:
From super heavy distortion to grungier jazzlike distortion. Comes with a book with a whole bunch of settings
Settings:
A volume, 2 gain channels, and amount of distortion. I find it best to have the base gain set to 3 o-clock and the treble gain at 9 o-clock or less. I keep the distortion knob turned all the way down cause to much makes your sound muddy.
